CREATIVE APPROACH: UNDERSTANDING THE TECHNOLOGY
Digital Molecular Matter models the specific material properties of any object so glass shatters, steel bends, and wood splinters realistically.
Euphoria is a physics engine that generates unique reactions to stimuli ensuring behavior/interaction is lifelike and unique every single time.
BEHIND THE SCENES: PRODUCTION PROCESS
1. brainstorm IT
Working directly with the TFU’s development team, we imagined an intense Force battle on the Wookie home world, Kashyyyk.
2. BUILD IT
Working with programmers and capture artists we created “splines” - camera dollies and pans that could be repeated at consistent speed and direction.
3. BLOW IT UP
Using the game engine, we “filmed” hundreds of unique battles from a variety of different angles to capture thousands of unique, destructive moments.
4. BRING IT TO LIFE
VFX experts at Industrial Light & Magic composited pieces from hundreds of takes to create a powerful 30-second video using entirely real in-game scenes.
